Faith. Community. Opportunity.
Saving Together. Growing Together.
Tusubila Saving Groups are a community-based initiative established
through Fields of Hope Church to help members build a culture of saving,
responsible borrowing, entrepreneurship and investment.
We believe that discipleship should touch every part of life.
As people grow spiritually, we also want to see families become more
financially responsible, businesses grow, opportunities increase and
communities become stronger.
From Fellowship to Financial Growth
Tusubila was established because we saw a need within our
community. Many hardworking families and individuals have ideas,
skills and dreams, but limited access to capital can make it
difficult to move forward.
Through the saving group, members come together in a trusted
community. They save regularly, access loans when they qualify,
repay what they borrow and work toward building something
sustainable.
The goal is not simply to have money in a savings box.
The goal is to develop people who can manage resources wisely,
create opportunities and eventually invest what they have built.
Our Faith Is Part of Our Development
Fields of Hope Church exists to glorify God through the fulfillment
of the Great Commission by the Spirit of the Great Commandment.
Tusubila is one expression of that vision in the community.
We want to see people encounter Christ, grow in fellowship,
develop wisdom and become equipped to build better futures for
themselves, their families and their communities.
How We Save
Three Ways We Build Together
Our weekly saving is organized around practical community needs.
Members contribute consistently, learn financial discipline and
work together toward projects and mutual support.
Project Fund
We save toward small projects that can benefit the group and
create opportunities for members. Our current vision includes
developing a small piggery and poultry project.
Welfare Fund
The welfare fund provides limited emergency support to members
who face urgent needs.
- Maximum welfare loan: UGX 50,000
- Repayment period: one month
- No profit is charged on the welfare loan
- If more time is needed, the loan is renewed according to the group's process
Shares
Members save through shares as part of the group's regular
savings structure.
- One share: UGX 2,000
- Maximum: 10 shares per saving period
- Maximum weekly share saving: UGX 20,000
- At the end of the cycle, members receive their accumulated shares and the group shares its profits according to the records.
Our Weekly Saving Gathering
Every Thursday evening, members come together for a focused time
of faith, financial learning, accountability and saving.
Thursday | 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
We fellowship, pray, encourage one another, share God's Word,
learn financial literacy and ethics, and then complete the
group's saving and record-keeping activities.
Our Thursday Gathering
Faith, Learning, Saving and Accountability
The saving meeting is more than a financial transaction.
It is a regular community gathering where members grow
spiritually, learn practical financial principles and save
together.
1
Gather
Members meet every Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
in a community setting.
2
Fellowship & Pray
We pray together, encourage one another and share
God's Word for a few minutes.
3

Members receive teaching in financial literacy,
financial ethics, counting, balancing and responsible
financial practice.
4
Save & Record
Members make their contributions while the group's
savings and records are counted and balanced.
5
Grow Together
We continue saving, support one another and work
toward productive group projects and investment.
We Start With Fellowship
Tusubila is not simply a financial meeting.
Before we begin saving, we spend a few minutes together
in fellowship and encouragement.
This reminds us that behind every contribution, loan,
business and family is a person created by God and
worthy of dignity, encouragement and support.
After fellowship, we move into practical financial learning and then
the group's saving, counting, balancing and accountability process.
-
Short fellowship and encouragement
-
Prayer and biblical reflection
-
Financial learning, saving and record keeping
-
Loan discussions and accountability
-
Financial learning and practical growth
Working Together
Our Partnership With Propel Foundation
We are grateful for our relationship with
Propel Foundation
,
whose work in Uganda includes working alongside communities
and supporting education, training and resources.
Through this partnership, Propel supports our group with a teacher who
provides training in financial literacy and ethics and helps
guide the members in counting, balancing and practical saving
knowledge.
Partnerships like this help us strengthen what the church is already
doing in the community and create opportunities for people to become
more equipped and self-reliant.
The Change We Hope To See
What Does Success Look Like?
We measure the success of Tusubila not only by the amount of money
saved, but by the lives that become stronger because of it.
Stronger Families
We want families to become better at planning, managing
income and preparing for future needs.
Growing Businesses
We want members to use responsible access to capital to
strengthen small businesses and create sustainable income.
Financial Discipline
We want saving, accountability and responsible borrowing
to become part of everyday life.
A Community That Supports One Another
We want members to know that they do not have to face every
challenge alone. We can learn, save, work and grow together.
Help Us Strengthen Community Savings
Tusubila is helping people combine faith, financial learning,
disciplined saving and mutual support. We are working toward
practical group projects, including our vision for a small
piggery and poultry project, while continuing to strengthen
financial literacy and accountability among members.
Partners and supporters can help us strengthen training,
record keeping, community projects and the resources needed
for the group to grow responsibly.
Saving Today. Investing Tomorrow.
At the end of the saving cycle, members receive their accumulated savings
according to the group's records, and the group shares the
profits generated through its saving and lending activities.
Members can then use what they have built toward productive
needs and opportunities.
We are building toward a future where the people we serve are not
only surviving, but growing, creating and investing in the future
God has placed before them.
