Fields of Hope Church, in partnership with Harvest Bible Church, is organizing a three-day community medical camp in Busiika, Luweero District, with a vision to bring free healthcare, screening, education, treatment and hope closer to underserved families.

Why We Are Organizing The Medical Camp

Many people in communities farther from the city have limited access to health campaigns and medical services. The medical camp is designed to bring healthcare closer to the people of Busiika and neighboring villages.

Through this outreach, medical professionals, students, volunteers and partner organizations will come together to provide services at no cost to the community.

Main Goal

Bring quality healthcare closer to underserved people and establish a foundation for future medical camps and a permanent clinic.

What Will Be Offered

Medical Camp Services

The camp will use a multi-sectional approach so that different health needs within the community can be addressed.

Health Education

Education on reproductive health, HIV/STIs, antenatal and postnatal care, healthy living and other important community health topics.

Cancer Awareness & Screening

Cancer awareness, early-detection education, breast self-examination education and breast and cervical cancer screening.

Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

Blood pressure, weight, height, BMI and blood sugar assessments with appropriate health advice.

Blood & Laboratory Screening

Planned screening includes HIV, Hepatitis B, syphilis, malaria and other appropriate tests.

Medical Consultations

General and specialist consultations involving appropriate medical professionals, including pediatric, obstetric and gynecological services.

Medicine & Drug Dispensing

Common medicines and appropriate treatment support will be provided according to the services available at the camp.

Ultrasound / Sonography

Portable ultrasound services are planned for selected antenatal, pediatric, gynecological and general indications.

Dental Care

Dental assessment, cleaning and guidance on further dental interventions where necessary.

Nutrition Care

Nutrition education, child nutrition support, breastfeeding education and nutritional advice for vulnerable groups.

Blood Donation

Community education about the importance of blood donation and an opportunity for eligible people to donate blood.

Referral & Follow-Up

People with serious conditions that cannot be handled at the camp will be referred for further treatment. The concept note identifies Kokko Health Center IV, Kalagala as a referral destination, with follow-up intended to help ensure continuity of care.

Looking Beyond The Camp

Building A Foundation For A Permanent Medical Clinic

The medical camp is not the end of the vision. It is intended to establish a foundation for future medical camps and eventually a permanent medical clinic.

Our Long-Term Vision

We hope that continued community partnerships, medical outreach and support will help establish a permanent medical facility that brings healthcare closer to families in Busiika and surrounding communities.
